Thirteen Places That Have Touched Me 1…. Liberty Mall in Philadelphia: When I touched the Liberty Bell I hurried outside to hide my tears.

2…Ellis Island: As I stood in the entry hall I thought of all those who have passed through it including my Grandparents.

3…The USS Arizona Memorial; I cried.

4… Time Square: What a happening place.

5…The Island of Luzon in the Philippines: In the midst of abject poverty the people had such dignity and grace.

6…Pusan, Korea: The first thing I noticed when I left the ship was the machine gun nests on the roofs of the surrounding buildings. This served as a constant reminder that Korea was a nation at war.

7… Hawaii: I was fortunate enough to live there for two years. I found the difference between the tourist meccas and the towns away from them amazing. I fell in love with the windward towns and dream of returning o share them with my wife.

8…The World Trade Center: When I was there I was amazed by the building. I was there about a year prior to the attacks on 9/11 and now the pictures remind me of friends I have lost.

9…The Golden Gate Bridge: What an amazing engineering feat.

10..The Seattle Space Needle: An amazing architectural feat.

11..The Oregon Coast: The diversity of nature.

12..The Sequoia National Park: The grandeur of nature.

13..Home: In all of my travels I was glad to be there.

Working on Sunday Serenity

My wife decided she wanted to start a new web meme. The meme was started in May at first on her blog Joystory. We created a blog for it on blogger, but I have been a Word Press guy for a while and we decided to move it to Word Pres.

Sunday Serenity is now live. This has been my project for this afternoon.

Apple Safari

Apple computer has just released a beta of its Safari 3 web browser. I just came across it today, but I want to tell you it is beautiful. The GUI is sleek and dose not take up a lot of your screen. Itis a fast load, and is easily understood.

I am going to continue to test it , but right now it could replace Firefox as my browser of choice.

It is available for Apple, Windows and Linux computers as freeware . For more information and download go to Apple-Safari 3 Beta. Let me know what you think.

Jarkanoid 3

Back in the 80s when video games first came out there was Pong. Just a simple simulation of a Ping Pong game. but it was fun. Out of Pong came Breakout. Bounce the ball against the wall and break the bricks. It was addictive. Araknoid was the direct descendant of Breakout and it brought an improvement in graphics and sound. As you can see I have been a fan for a long time and I just found a new version.

The newest version for me is Jaraknoid 3, which is freeware and fully downloadable. The music is great, the graphics outstanding and game play is excellent . The initial package comes with 30 level, with an additional 80 levels downloadable in 2 packages. It is easy to install. Give it a try you won’t be sorry.
